Minecraft Torus Generator

Build a donut (torus) in Minecraft. Set the outer diameter and the tube thickness, then build it one Y-layer at a time with the slider. The tube thickness also sets how tall the donut is. Hollow gives a tube shell; Filled gives a solid ring. Flip to the 3D view to rotate the finished donut and see it from any angle.

How to build a torus (donut)

  1. Set the outer diameter (the full width of the donut) and the tube diameter (how fat the ring is). The tube must be smaller than the outer diameter.
  2. Build from the bottom layer up. The first and last layers are thin rings; the middle layers show two concentric rings (the inside and outside of the tube).
  3. Hollow is best for large rings — a filled torus uses far more blocks and looks the same from outside.

FAQ

How do you make a torus (donut) in Minecraft?

A torus is a ring with a round tube. Set the outer diameter for the overall ring size and the tube thickness for how fat the ring is, then build it layer by layer with the slider. Hollow mode gives a shell; filled gives a solid donut.

What do the two torus sizes mean?

Outer diameter is the full width of the ring across the middle. Tube is the thickness of the ring itself (the dough of the donut). A large outer diameter with a small tube gives a thin hoop; a small outer diameter with a large tube gives a chunky ring or pool surround.

What is a torus used for in Minecraft builds?

Rings and donuts make great fountains, space-station hubs, decorative arches, pond surrounds, and portal frames. Build it flat for a ring on the ground, or rotate the layers mentally to stand it upright as a hoop.
