Slime Chunk Finder

Enter your Minecraft world seed — a number or any text (e.g. my world) — to find slime chunks. Bit-exact replication of Mojang's algorithm. Slimes spawn naturally only in slime chunks below Y=40 (and in swamps Y 50–70).

About slime chunks

  • Roughly 1 in 10 chunks are slime chunks. They're pre-determined by the world seed and chunk coordinates — they don't change over time.
  • Slimes naturally spawn in slime chunks below Y=40, in any biome, on any light level.
  • Slimes also spawn in swamp biomes between Y=50 and Y=70 at low light — those don't need a slime chunk.
  • For a slime farm: dig out a slime chunk from bedrock up to Y=40 and AFK at least 24 blocks away.
