Minecraft Lighthouse Generator
Build a tapered coastal lighthouse. Set the base diameter, the body height, and the cap height — the tower narrows toward the top, adds a balcony gallery around the lamp room, and finishes with a roof. Use the 3D view to check the silhouette before you build.
Layer 1 of 34 — build bottom-up with the slider. The number after each row is its block count.
How to build a lighthouse
- Set the base diameter (the widest ring at the bottom) and the body height.
- Build each ring from the bottom up — the slider shows how the circle shrinks as the wall tapers inward.
- The two layers below the cap overhang as a gallery balcony. Ring it with fences or walls for a railing, and glass the lamp room above it.
- Light the lamp room with sea lanterns or glowstone, or set a beacon on top for a far-visible beam. For a matching round base platform, use the circle generator.
FAQ
How do you build a lighthouse in Minecraft?
Set the base diameter, the body height, and a cap height. The generator tapers the tower from a wide base to a narrower lamp room, adds a balcony gallery that overhangs the top, and caps it with a small roof. Build it layer by layer, then put a glowing block (sea lantern, glowstone, or a beacon) in the lamp room.
Why is the top wider than the walls just below it?
That overhang is the gallery balcony — the walkway that rings a real lighthouse's lamp room. It’s built into the top two body layers. Place fences or walls around it for a railing, and glass below the cap for the light.
What size makes a good lighthouse?
A base diameter of 11–15 with a body around 24–32 tall gives the classic tall, slender silhouette. Shorter and wider reads as a harbor beacon; taller and narrower as a coastal tower. The 3D view helps you judge the proportions before you commit blocks.
How do I make the light actually work?
Minecraft lighthouses are decorative — there’s no rotating beam. Fill the lamp room with sea lanterns, glowstone, or shroomlight behind glass for a bright glow, or drop a beacon on top for a vertical light beam visible from far away.
