Minecraft Sphere Generator
Build a round ball or dome in Minecraft. Set the diameter and the generator slices the sphere into Y-layers — use the slider to step up one level at a time. Switch to Ellipsoid for a stretched sphere with separate width, height, and depth. Hollow gives a shell; Filled gives a solid ball. Flip to the 3D view to rotate the finished shape and check it from any angle.
Layer 1 of 11 — build bottom-up with the slider. The number after each row is its block count.
How to build a sphere in Minecraft
- Set the diameter. Odd diameters have a single center column; even diameters have a 2×2 center.
- Build one layer at a time from the bottom up. Each layer is a flat ring (hollow) or disc (filled) — match the green cells, then move the slider up and stack the next layer on top.
- For a dome, build only the bottom half of a hollow sphere and stop at the middle layer.
- Use Hollow for almost all builds — a filled sphere wastes blocks and you can't get inside it.
FAQ
How do you make a sphere in Minecraft?
Set a diameter above and build it one layer at a time from the bottom up — each layer is a flat circle that grows toward the middle and shrinks again at the top. Use the layer slider to step through every Y-level, and Hollow mode for a shell you can walk inside.
How do you make a dome in Minecraft?
A dome is the top or bottom half of a sphere. Generate a sphere at your chosen diameter and build only half the layers — stop at the widest layer for a clean half-dome. Hollow mode gives you a roof you can stand under.
What's a good sphere size in Minecraft?
Odd diameters (7, 9, 11…) center cleanly. Diameters of 7–15 are easy to build by hand; larger spheres look smoother but the layer count climbs fast. The per-layer and total block counts above show exactly what each size costs.
What's the difference between a sphere and an ellipsoid?
A sphere is round in every direction (one diameter). An ellipsoid is stretched — separate width, height, and depth — for eggs, blimps, or squashed domes. Switch modes above to set each axis independently.
