What is /weather used for?
What /weather is for
Sets the weather to clear, rain, or thunder, optionally for a specific number of seconds.
When to use /weather
Stop a storm that's killing your crops or visibility, force rain to fill cauldrons and farm, or set thunder to spawn charged creepers and skeleton traps.
Weather vs the gamerule
For a one-off change use /weather clear. To stop weather changing permanently, set /gamerule doWeatherCycle false instead.

Permission level
/weather requires Cheats (op level 2). In single-player you need the world's "Allow Cheats" toggle on. On a multiplayer server you need to be opped — see /op.
