/stop

Gracefully stops a dedicated server: it saves all worlds, disconnects players, and exits the process. The safe way to shut down — much better than killing the process, which can corrupt region files mid-write.

/stop takes no arguments — copy and run it as-is.

Examples

  • Save everything and shut the server down.

Permission level

/stop requires Server owner (op level 4). In single-player you need the world's "Allow Cheats" toggle on. On a multiplayer server you need to be opped — see /op.
