/kick
Disconnect a player from the server.
What is /kick used for?
What /kick is for
Disconnects a player from the server immediately, with an optional reason message — but lets them rejoin right away.
When to use /kick
A lighter touch than a ban: clear an AFK player, interrupt someone misbehaving, or force a reconnect to fix a glitched session.

Common questions
What's the difference between /kick and /ban?
/kick disconnects a player but lets them rejoin instantly; /ban blocks them until you /pardon them. Use /ban for lasting removal.
Can I kick a player with a reason?
Yes — /kick <player> <reason>, e.g. /kick Steve AFK too long. The reason shows on their disconnect screen.
Permission level
/kick requires Server admin (op level 3). In single-player you need the world's "Allow Cheats" toggle on. On a multiplayer server you need to be opped — see /op.
