When to use /music
Set mood in adventure maps without resource-pack hacks. For sound effects rather than music, use /playsound.

Examples
Loop the credits track at full volume.
Fade out music over 2 seconds.
Permission level
/music requires Cheats (op level 2). In single-player you need the world's "Allow Cheats" toggle on. On a multiplayer server you need to be opped — see /op.
