How to Make Potion of Weakness in Minecraft

Brew a Potion of Weakness by adding a Fermented Spider Eye to a Water Bottle on a Brewing Stand — it's the only effect potion made straight from water, with no Awkward Potion needed.

You'll need

  • 1× Fermented Spider Eye
  • Blaze Powder (fuel)

Step by step

    Set up the Brewing Stand

    Add Blaze Powder to fuel the stand and place 1–3 Water Bottles in the bottom slots.

    Add the Fermented Spider Eye

    Put a Fermented Spider Eye in the top ingredient slot. It brews directly into a Potion of Weakness — no Awkward Potion required.

    Make a Splash version (optional)

    Add Gunpowder to turn it into a Splash Potion of Weakness you can throw — useful for curing or capturing zombie villagers.
