How to Make Beacon in Minecraft
Craft a Beacon from 5 Glass, 3 Obsidian, and 1 Nether Star. Place it on a pyramid of iron, gold, diamond, emerald, or netherite blocks for area buffs.

Step by step

Get a Nether Star
A Nether Star drops from the Wither boss. The Obsidian goes in the bottom row, the Nether Star in the center, and Glass fills the rest.

Build a pyramid
Place the Beacon on top of a pyramid of Iron, Gold, Diamond, Emerald, or Netherite blocks (1–4 layers) and activate it through the menu.
Tips
- A full 4-layer pyramid needs 164 mineral blocks and unlocks the longest range plus Secondary powers like Regeneration.
- The beam shines to the sky and can be tinted by placing stained glass above the beacon.
