/title

Show titles and subtitles on a player's screen.

What is /title used for?

What /title is for

Shows large title and subtitle text in the center of a player's screen, or text on the action bar above the hotbar, with control over fade-in, stay, and fade-out timing.

When to use /title

Announce round starts and objectives, display cutscene captions, or push status messages to the action bar without cluttering chat.

Tips for /title

Set /title times before sending the title to control the animation. Use the actionbar option for subtle, non-blocking messages, and JSON text for color and formatting.

  • Subtitle line under the title.

  • Fade-in 10t, stay 60t, fade-out 20t.

Common questions

How do I show a title on screen?

Run /title <player> title with your text. Call /title <player> times <fadeIn> <stay> <fadeOut> first to control how long it stays.

How do I clear a title?

Use /title <player> clear to remove it, or /title <player> reset to also reset the fade timing back to default.

Permission level

/title requires Cheats (op level 2). In single-player you need the world's "Allow Cheats" toggle on. On a multiplayer server you need to be opped — see /op.
