/ride

Forces one entity to mount another (or dismount), bypassing the normal saddle/interaction rules. Useful for stacking mobs, building custom mounts, or attaching entities for cinematic effects.

Syntax

Parameters

entity selector
The rider (single entity).
action
literal
mount <vehicle> or dismount.
vehicleoptional
entity selector
Entity to ride (for mount).

Examples

  • Mount the nearest horse.

  • Stop riding whatever you're on.

Permission level

/ride requires Cheats (op level 2). In single-player you need the world's "Allow Cheats" toggle on. On a multiplayer server you need to be opped — see /op.
