Station / tools
- Furnace
Yields: 1 Terracotta per Clay block
Step by step
- 1
Gather Clay
Dig Clay blocks from shallow water, or craft a Clay block from 4 Clay Balls.
- 2
Smelt into Terracotta
Smelt the Clay block in a furnace to get a hardened Terracotta block.
- 3
Dye it (optional)
Surround a dye with 8 Terracotta in the crafting grid to make 8 blocks of that colored Terracotta.
Tips
- Smelt colored Terracotta again to make Glazed Terracotta — a decorative patterned block.
- Terracotta is common in Badlands biomes, where it generates naturally in many colors.
FAQ
Is Terracotta the same as Hardened Clay?
Yes. Hardened Clay was renamed Terracotta — it's the block you get from smelting Clay.
