How to Make Lead in Minecraft

Craft a Lead (leash) from 4 String and 1 Slimeball. One craft makes two Leads.

You'll need

  • 4× String
  • 1× Slimeball

Station / tools

  • Crafting Table

Yields: 2 Leads per craft

Step by step

  1. 1

    Get String and a Slimeball

String drops from spiders or comes from breaking cobwebs; Slimeballs drop from slimes or from baby pandas sneezing.

  2. 2

    Craft the Lead

Place the Slimeball in the center, String above it, String to its left, and two String in the bottom-right diagonal. You get 2 Leads.

Tips

  • Use a Lead on most passive mobs to tie them and lead them around, then attach the lead to a fence post to tie them up.
  • Leads also work on boats to pull them.
