How to Make Copper Golem in Minecraft
Build a Copper Golem by placing a Copper Block and putting a Carved Pumpkin on top. The pumpkin must be the last block placed, and the copper block turns into a Copper Chest as the golem spawns.
You'll need
- 1× Block of Copper (any oxidation)
- 1× Carved Pumpkin or Jack o'Lantern
Station / tools
- No special station required.
Yields: 1 Copper Golem
Step by step
- 1
Place a Copper Block
Set down any Block of Copper — unoxidized, exposed, weathered, or oxidized. The golem spawns with the same oxidation level as the block you use.
- 2
Add a Carved Pumpkin last
Place a Carved Pumpkin (or Jack o'Lantern) directly on the copper block. It must be the final block placed — by you, a dispenser, or even an enderman. The pattern also works sideways or upside-down.
- 3
Meet your golem
The copper block becomes a Copper Chest and the Copper Golem spawns. It pulls items from copper chests and sorts them into nearby wooden and trapped chests.
Tips
- Wax the golem with a Honeycomb to stop it oxidizing — an unwaxed golem slowly oxidizes and eventually freezes into a Copper Golem Statue, dropping its items.
- A lightning strike (or a Lightning Rod nearby) instantly removes all oxidation and reactivates a frozen statue.
- The Copper Golem was added in the September 2025 'Copper Age' update.
