The blast furnace smelts ore blocks, metal tools, and armor twice as fast as a regular furnace, but only accepts metal/ore items. It is the Armorer villager's job site.
How to make a Blast Furnace
Full crafting guide for Blast Furnace → Step-by-step layout and ingredient sources.
What a Blast Furnace does
- •Smelts ores (iron, gold, copper) and metal gear at double furnace speed
- •Cannot cook food or smelt non-metal items — use a regular furnace or smoker for those
- •Assigns the Armorer profession to a villager
How to use the Blast Furnace
Right-click to open the blast furnace, place a smeltable metal/ore item in the top slot and fuel (coal, charcoal, lava bucket) in the bottom slot. It processes each item in ~5 seconds versus ~10 in a furnace, making it the fastest way to smelt large ore hauls.
Villager job site: Armorer — place it near an unemployed villager to assign the profession.
